Impact windows for Palm Beach County's wind-borne debris region
Palm Beach County is outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, but West Palm Beach is in Florida's wind-borne debris region, so the Florida Building Code requires impact-rated windows and doors or approved shutters on every opening. We install products with Florida Product Approval for large-missile impact, and many of the systems we offer also carry a Miami-Dade NOA, the strictest rating in the country. Brands include PGT, ES Windows, Mr. Glass, ECO, EMC and GIG.

Historic homes and new construction
West Palm Beach has a large stock of 1920s homes in historic districts as well as new builds. For historic properties we match frame profiles, grid patterns and colors to the original look while meeting today's impact standards, and we supply the documentation historic review boards ask for. For builders and new construction, we deliver impact window packages on schedule and install to the approved plans.
Insurance and energy savings
Impact-rated windows and doors on all openings can earn an opening protection credit on your windstorm policy, confirmed by a wind mitigation inspection. Low-E impact glass blocks heat and UV, which lowers cooling bills and protects floors and furniture from fading.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Give us a call.
Are impact windows required in West Palm Beach?
West Palm Beach is in Florida's wind-borne debris region, so replacement windows and doors must be impact-rated or protected by approved shutters under the Florida Building Code. Impact windows meet the requirement on their own.
Do you install in historic districts?
Yes. We match frame profiles, grids and colors to the original windows while meeting current impact standards, and we provide the documentation historic preservation boards request.
Do you handle the permit in Palm Beach County?
Yes. We file the permit with the City of West Palm Beach or Palm Beach County, include the product approvals and schedule the final inspection.
Can I remove my shutters after installing impact windows?
In most cases, yes. Once every opening is protected by large-missile impact-rated glass, shutters are no longer required on those openings. Check with your insurer so your wind mitigation credit reflects the change.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are installed in one to three days once the windows arrive. Manufacturing lead time runs several weeks after the order is placed.
